HA! Reading the last post is not very friendly. So I guess I could try it again and try to sound like I am some what nice…
My goals for 2010. Actually keep one of the goals!!!
Be debt free by July 2010. I think we can do it by June, But Jared wants to keep it at July. I say dare to dream baby! Lets shoot for MAY! Which is really sad to think about it. I am 22 years old, I have about 7,000 in debt and I am stressed about that little amount when there are people that have a home mortgage plus 10, 20, 30, 50,000 in debt. However, they do have a house to show for the debt though, so that nice. And technically speaking I still have the car on my credit score so that’s another 18,000.00.However it is nice not having that payment every month! My dad seemed thankful for the car, he wouldn’t have chosen it, but it is better then his huge truck that he had to fill up everyday (ouch!). My dad brought up the fact that he could get out of debt in one year. If he did not gamble, he could spend about 2,500 every month on that goal (that would include paying of the car). So lets hope that happens, then I wouldn’t have to ask my father to take me off the loan that I wanted o sooooo badly (Like an idiot).
Next, I was shooting for having a mortgage by Dec. 2010. I told Jared and of course he slammed my back to reality. Getting out of debt and having a savings for a good down payment for a house is kind of a lot. SOOO (thanks a lot husband!) I want to have a good savings. At some point we will have to get me a car and I refuse to get another loan on a car so that’s money, and then of course a house which we should save about 10% for the home price. So, if we wanted to look at houses for $250,000 we need to have at least 25,000…. OUCH!! Who the pooh can do that in a year… Do we make more then that in a year? I think so…. So what’s an attainable goal for us? 7,000 in savings? I know that the military will help us with the down payment, but the more we can put up the lower the APR is going to be (Which will be nice). I will have to see if 7,000 is doable to my husband as well (I think he is going to say no and come up with 2-5,000 is good).
And lastly, find something to do. Either a hobby or a community thing that I can get involved in. The problem is that I am a flake and don’t commit to things very well, so this will be a test!
Good luck to everyone this year, lets make it the best!
